At the conclusion of the hearing on July 2, 2025, pertaining to the ‘Ubisoft Scandal’ which started in 2020, three former Ubisoft executives Tommy François (former vice president of editorial and creative services), Serge Hascoët (former CCO), and Guillaume Patrux (former game designer/director) were found guilty of “moral and sexual harassment and attempted sexual assault”.
The trial of the trio started in March but was adjourned until June 2 on the lawyers’ request for more time to get familiar with the case document. Back in 2020, a party-like atmosphere was uncovered in Ubisoft that featured potential sexual harassment and assault. The trio fingered in the matter eventually resigned.

François was accused of alleged sexual and systemic psychological harassment, according to a report by Le Monde. Some of the accusations brought against him include watching NSFW videos in an open-plan office, frequent public humiliation and hazing, commenting on the appearance of female staff, and attempted sexual assault.
In one particular incident, it was alleged that the former Ubisoft executive tried to kiss a young employee without mutual consent during a Christmas party, while she was held by other colleagues.
The Bobigny criminal court on Wednesday, July 2, found François guilty of sexual and moral harassment as well as attempted sexual assault. The conviction has earned him a three-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of approximately $35,290 (€30,000), according to the publication by Libération. François received the longest suspended prison sentence.
A suspended prison sentence means that the convicted Ubisoft executives will not serve prison time. However, if they commit further crimes, the court has the jurisdiction to enforce a jail term.
The sentences for the other two convicted Ubisoft executives
Although François’ suspended prison sentence was the longest, Hascoët will pay more in fines following his conviction. The former Ubisoft CCO was accused of posting intrusive sexual-related questions and making racist comments.

The court handed Hascoët an 18-month suspended sentence and a fine of approximately $52,930 (€45,000).
Patrux received the lightest sentence out of the trio. He was sentenced to a 12-month suspended prison term and fined approximately $11,800 (€10,000) “for violent and intimidating behavior towards the small team where he worked”.
