Battlefield 6 developer and publisher have waged a war against cheaters. Impacted players are those using the Cronus Zen software. Images have appeared online from players whose accounts have been disabled.

“Your account has been disabled,” read the bold message on a blue background. “Cronus Zen activity on this account has violated EA’s User Agreement: we have permanently blocked access to this product.”

A statement provided to Push Square by Ripple Effect’s technical director, Christian Buhl, said, “We’ve partnered with PlayStation and Microsoft to detect Cronus Zen hardware. We also have our own macro detection and Secure Boot systems to combat PC and console cheats”.

According to DICE, the issue of cheating in Battlefield 6 is being taken seriously to ensure fair play and preserve the game’s competitive integrity, such that everyone will get a clean, competitive Battlefield experience.

The reaction from players has been mostly jubilant, and it is not hard to tell why. Cheaters ruin the playing experience for everyone. They use malicious hardware and software to gain an undue advantage over other players, especially in multiplayer modes.

Sadly, some of them go on to participate in e-sports tournaments—and win over legitimate players. The Cronus Zen device has been one of the most controversial in the industry.

Players who use the device can experience a massive reduction in recoil. It also aids with accuracy and introduces macros that give the user an unfair advantage over their opponents. Cronus Zen works on both PC and consoles. Activision has been previously called out for not doing enough to deter cheaters in Call of Duty.
