Hours after the launch of Battlefield 6, the developer acknowledged that it was aware of an issue that prevented players from starting the game modes via the EA App. Three hours later, the team put out a new message saying it had found a possible cause.
“We believe we have found a possible cause for this issue,” read the message posted on X through the Battlefield Comms handle. “We are in the process of validating a potential fix and will provide an update when we have it.”

The developer apologized to impacted players who could not pre-order the game through the EA App because of the issue, while confirming that a fix has been rolled out. To make it up to the affected players, the developer is offering perks while it continues to work on other fixes.
“Anyone on the EA App who was impacted will receive 12 Hardware and 12 Career 60-Minute Boosters, which should be arriving in impacted players’ in-game inbox this weekend,” the developer said.
“In addition, we will also be granting impacted players full access to a seasonal Battle Pass. If impacted players purchased the Phantom Edition, we will be granting them access to Season 2’s full Battle Pass.”
To avoid ambiguity, the developer clarified that “this is a single Battle Pass reward but Phantom Edition includes Battlefield Pro so we moved the reward out to accommodate”.
At the time of writing, the developer has acknowledged another issue on Steam where players got the message “Game Not Released” when they tried to download the game.
“A potential workaround is available: In Steam, open the game’s Properties, then untick both the Battlefield Multiplayer HD Marker and Battlefield Multiplayer Marker DLCs,” the developer wrote.
