Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror studio, Revolution Software, has announced that the 1997 classic is being enhanced for consoles and PC. Although there is no release date for it yet, it has a Steam page where fans can Wishlist the game.

“After your incredible support for Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged, we’re thrilled to announce this beautifully enhanced version of the classic sequel coming to PC and console!” posted Revolution Software on X.

For those who are not familiar with Broken Sword – The Smoking Mirror, the game follows the story of a journalist, Nico Collard, who was investigating a ruthless drug gang. During the process, Nico discovers an ancient artifact that leads her and her companion George Stobbart into a mysterious escapade of intrigue and deceit.

“Kidnap, stolen treasure, astronomy, and deadly drug baron are the least of the duo’s worries, as divine forces threaten to annihilate mankind! Nerve, cunning, and guile are essential in order to conquer in this compelling adventure, guaranteed to leave you with an aching brain and a beating heart,” read the game description.

They must overcome powerful forces and antagonists who will stop at nothing to fulfil their evil ambitions. Broken Sword – The Smoking Mirror: Reforged will come with interesting new features, including:

  • 4K remastered visuals that will include picturesque landscapes, detailed characters, and intricate environments.
  • Enhanced audio, including soundtrack from world-acclaimed composer Barrington Pheloung.
  • Never-before-seen dialogue restored from the original scripts and secrets to unlock upon completing the game.

Broken Sword – The Smoking Mirror: Reforged will come with other quality of life improvements, including allowing players to toggle graphics, game help on demand, seamlessly switch inputs (mouse, controller, and touchscreen), auto or manual save, and dialogue history.
