Capcom Highlights Will Present Two Digital Events On March 7 And 11

It appears more in-person game events will suffer the same fate as E3 as more companies now opt for proprietary digital events. Capcom just launched a digital event called “Capcom Highlights”. The developer and publisher said the “digital event is here with the latest on our newest titles!”

Instead of having one half-hour event, the company has decided to split its showcase into two separate digital events. The first or Day 1 will air on Thursday 7 March 2024 at 23:00 GMT while the second or Day 2 will air on Monday 11 March 2024 at 22:00 GMT.

However, Capcom warns that the date and time of the events may change without prior notice. Therefore, it is important to keep your eyes peeled for sudden updates. Each of the events will last between 15 to 20 minutes.

A short about section that defines Capcom Highlights said, “We’ll be providing the latest info on titles launching soon and give the world an update on the current state of Capcom”. Two games will be showcased on Day 1 and four games on Day 2. The two games that will be showcased on Day are Kanitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Kanitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a new IP from Capcom that will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Game Pass, and PC. According to the developer, it “explores an incredible world in which traditional Japanese aesthetics are brought to stunning life by the power of RE Engine”. Dragon’s Dogma 2, on the other hand, is a “single-player, narrative-driven action-RPG that challenges players to choose their own experience—from the appearance of their Arisen, their vocation, their party, how to approach different situations, and more”. Dragon’s Dogma 2 will feature AI-controlled characters. It is scheduled for release on March 22 and will be Capcom’s first $70 game.

Day 2 of Capcom Highlights will be more packed compared to the first day. Capcom will provide updates on four games including Street Fighter 6, Exoprimal, Monster Hunter Now, and Monster Hunter Stories. All the games will be available on console except Monster Hunter Now which is a mobile game for Android and iOS.

Street Fighter 6 has already sold over 3 million units since its launch in June 2023. It also won the Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards 2023. A slew of new features has already been added to the game and it would be interesting to see what new features or updates would be announced at Capcom Highlights.

Season 3 of Exoprimal started on January 18, 2024, and will run until April 17, 2024. The online, team-based action game “pits humanity’s cutting-edge Exosuit technology against history’s most ferocious beasts – dinosaurs”. The Exosuits are grouped into different roles and players will have to pilot them to hold firm against an overwhelming swarm of dinosaurs. The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5|PS4, Game Pass, and PC.

The fourth game that will be showcased on Day 2 of Capcom Highlights is the remastered version of the first Monster Hunter RPG. While the original version had written dialogues, the remastered version which is expected to launch sometime in Summer 2024 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam is fully voiced. In the game, there are monster hunters who hunt monsters for a living and riders who train and live together with monsters, creating a unique system.
