Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the games announced for Switch 2. However, the major question on the lips of fans who planned to get the game on Nintendo Switch 2 was what would happen to their progress, and the dread of starting all over.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2

CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which is releasing on Nintendo Switch 2, will have cross-progression capability. In other words, those purchasing the title on the platform don’t need to start their career from scratch, unless they want to.

“With cross-progression 💾 🔗 ☁️, you can simply send a save to the cloud from wherever it is you played last and load it up on your shiny new piece of hardware via the cloud — no eddies required!” the developer addressed the concern through a post on X.

Cyberpunk 2077 Cross Progression

This feature will be most useful to players who have invested hours into the game on other platforms but have yet to complete the main story. Players who have completed the main story, on the other hand, wouldn’t mind starting all over—although not every player would fancy the idea of paying for the same game twice just to have a handheld experience.

Since Cyberpunk 2077 is not a new title, many can argue that this is a niche feature that may not be useful to a lot of players anymore. Nevertheless, for those who find it useful, it would be a huge load off their shoulders.

If you own a Nintendo Switch 2, which title launching on the platform would you prefer to have cross progression? Also, do you think it would be a good idea for every developer to include cross-progression in all their games? Share your thoughts in the comment box below.
