Ubisoft’s Far Cry franchise is set to be adapted into a movie by FX. The series will be co-created by Noah Hawley and Rob Mac (formerly McElhenney). United States residents will be able to stream the series via Hulu, while the international audience will have access to it through Disney+.

Far Cry TV series is expected to align with the video game’s format and feature different settings and casts every season. FX is the same studio that brought Alien: Earth to life.
The Far Cry series has been a staple in the first-person shooter genre since 2004. Each subsequent release has evolved from the previous. The last Far Cry game, Far Cry 6, was released on October 7, 2021.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant belief and support.”
According to Ubisoft, the upcoming collaboration will deepen the relationship between Hawley and Mac with FX. The upcoming series will also see Mac return to collaborating with Ubisoft. Mac co-created and starred in Mythic Quest, an Apple TV series that was produced by Ubisoft Film & Television.
“What I love about the ‘Far Cry’ game franchise is it’s an anthology. Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way each season of ‘Fargo’ is a variation on a theme,” Hawley said.
“To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and chaotic lens is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the screen.”
FX’s Far Cry will be executive produced by Rob Mac, Noah Hawley, Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, and Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television. The series will be produced by FX Productions.
Given Hawley and Mac’s experience and portfolio, the Far Cry TV series appears to be in good hands. There is no further information on the cast or when the first season will be ready to air. However, gamers who have enjoyed the Far Cry series will definitely be looking forward to it.
