The simple game of Grow a Garden, where players are tasked with managing their garden to produce and sell different plants, has reached a new all-time high concurrent player count. The milestone that Steam can only dream about was achieved over the weekend.
Grow a Garden was released two months ago and has continued to attract and retain new players over the weeks. On May 31, 2025, the game recorded its biggest concurrent player count of 11 million players. It was reported that at least 5 million of the players were new visitors.

Since its launch, Grow a Garden has enjoyed 4.3 billion visits with an active player base of over 2.5 million and almost 2 million favorites, according to Roblox statistics. In contrast, the highest charting game on Steam is PUBG: Battlegrounds, which hit 3.2 million players seven years ago. No other game on the platform has attracted 3 million players ever since.
However, it is important to mention that Roblox has several advantages over other platforms. Firstly, the platform operates a free-to-play model and uses Lego models, which makes it appealing to younger players, who, by the way, have more time to play games compared to working adults.
Nevertheless, what Grow a Garden has achieved is mind-blowing considering the fact that the gaming market is crowded with thousands of close alternatives competing for attention.
According to an IGN report, it was a 16-year-old who first developed Grow a Garden in “just a few days”. However, Splitting Point has since acquired the game, adding it to their already impressive games catalog on the platform, which includes A Dusty Car Trip and Gunfight Arena.
Grow a Garden continues to get new and timely updates, events, and content, which has helped to attract and retain new players. It will be interesting to see the next milestone that the game will set in concurrent player count.
