Earlier today, IO Interactive set the Internet on fire with the name reveal for their upcoming James Bond, which is now called 007 First Light. There was a lot of speculation that the reveal would happen at the Summer Game Fest 2025. The studio has spilled more, including the launch of its proprietary showcase.
“Join us for the first ever IOI SHOWCASE on June 6th, 6:00 PM PDT,” the studio clarified in a follow-up message shared on social media. “Set your reminders and don’t miss out on the exclusive reveals and information straight from the team!”

The three games that will headline the IOI Showcase are Hitman: World of Assassination, 007 First Light, and Mindseye. According to IO Interactive, First Light reveal “will give a world premiere look at 007 First Light, featuring never-before-seen footage, and start a new era of James Bond in video games”.
All eyes will be on First Light, which was first announced in November 2020 with a CGI trailer. The company has continued its search for “elite talent” to join the game’s development since its announcement. The most recent job advert was as early as three weeks ago.
The first-ever IOI Showcase will be aired digitally. You can watch it here. Feel free to bookmark this page and return on the day of the showcase.

For context, the studio’s CEO, Hakan Abrak, said in January 2021 that the game will not lean on previous Bond movies or actors. Instead, the studio has built a new Bond universe from the ground up.
“I know it was a little teaser, not a lot of information, but there’s a lot of cool stuff coming up,” Abrak said in an interview with IGN last October. “We are also very excited, and when we are ready with that, we’ll be opening up.”
“Equally important and exciting, it’s a new Bond. It’s a Bond we built from ground up for gamers. It’s extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers, a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with.”

IO Interactive acknowledges that the gaming world is constantly changing. One promise that they have given to their fans is that “no matter what we do, we assure you that it will not be boring,” a statement that will be tested at the maiden edition of the IOI Showcase.
Three weeks ago, the studio shared a job advert seeking animators for Project 007. “We’re looking for MORE Gameplay Animators from around the globe to join our team at IOI, working on the highly anticipated Project 007 game, a James Bond origin story!” read the advert.
“Bring animations to life, crafting thrilling gameplay experiences in an iconic Bond style. If you’re passionate about storytelling through animation and thrive on collaboration and creativity, we’d love to hear from you!”
