Ivy Road has announced “bittersweet” news that they are closing their doors on March 31, 2026, following a funding drought. The studio was behind the 2025 farming sim Wanderstop, which Annapurna Interactive published.

“It’s hard to put into words how thankful we are to have been able to work together on Wanderstop – this is an incredible group of people!,” the studio announced on their website. “And while we had a new project, Engine Angel, that we were excited about, unfortunately the funding didn’t come to fruition and the studio had to shut down.”

“There’s still one last surprise brewing, one we’ve been working on for the last year to help find a way for Wanderstop to reach new players. The great folks at Annapurna Interactive will be sharing more news about this in the future, and we’re looking forward to you all seeing what it is!”
Ivy Road was a new indie studio founded in 2021. The studio was run by Davey Wreden (The Stanley Parable), Karla Zimonja (Bioshock 2: Minerva’s Den), and C418 (Minecraft). Annapurna Interactive backed the studio.
Although Ivy Road is shutting down, it is not the end of the road for Wanderstop. It appears Annapurna will take over support for the game. The game will still be available on all storefronts. Players who may have feedback, requests, or bug-related concerns have been told to reach out to help@annapurnainteractive.com.
Ivy Road has shared a Wanderstop hack for chapter selection

Following the closure announcement, Ivy Road has shared one last hack that will allow Wnaderstop players to select any chapter in the game they want to play. The code is meant to help players who get stuck in any area or those who want to experience a specific chapter. Here is a guide on how to put the code.

Ivy Road’s new project, Engine Angel, has now been put on ice. The studio said they tried to find a publishing partner but couldn’t land a deal. The studio’s cinematic lead and animator, Elizabeth Caingcoy, shared a concept of Engine Angel, three months ago while trying to secure funding to see the game through the finish line.
I've been working on a game pitch and story dear to me, "ENGINE ANGEL", with the team at Ivy Road! We're still seeking funding, but in the meantime I wanted everyone to still be able to share the work they've done. I'll be sharing more as well as reposting any of the team's posts so stay tuned!
