The third and final story DLC for KCD2, Mysteria Ecclesiae, will arrive tomorrow, November 11, 2025. Likewise, the game’s designer, Karel Kolmann, has also arrived at CD Projekt Red. Kolmann is expected to play a major role in building The Witcher 4. His short farewell message read, “Goodbye Warhorse, never change”.

Kolmann joined Warhorse Studios in 2017 as a game designer and writer and rose through the ranks to become lead gameplay designer in May 2025. Kolmann confirmed the move to CD Projekt Red last weekend through an image post on LinkedIn with the caption, “And to make it official…”

During his time at Warhorse, Kolmann created several gameplay features and quests as well as designed and scripted KCD2’s hardcore mode. Kolmann was in charge of writing all the dialogue and cutscenes of the critically acclaimed title. He also wrote the crime system, which is “How NPCs react to all player actions” in the game’s open world settings.
Other accomplishments that Kolmann will leave behind include balancing the stealth and perception systems of NPCs. If you enjoyed the large-scale battles and combat of KCD2, it was also one of his accomplishments.
At CD Projekt Red, Kolmann will play the role of senior quest designer. It will be interesting to see what new combat and quests he will bring to The Witcher 4.
