GameBaba Universe

One thing I have come to admire about Konami is how they subject their products to public vote. Whether it is deciding if a game should have a sequel or a remake, or whether they should continue with their proprietary showcase, Konami Press Start, they always put up a poll to know the views of their audience.

Konami Press Start Lineup

On June 12, Konami aired the maiden edition of what they titled Konami Press Start. It is a digital event similar to PlayStation’s State of Play, Ubisoft Forward, or Xbox Games Showcase—those sorts of game reveal/preview events.

Konami Press Start lasted for about 37 minutes. During this time, a total of 12 games were shown, including a more in-depth look at highly anticipated upcoming titles like Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f.

However, the show also included a deep dive into eFootball and eBaseball Pro Spirit, two mobile titles that should excite players in love with the sports genre. As a sucker for 2D platformer, one title that stood out for me was Darwin’s Paradox! It followed the story of an octopus that was trying to return to the sea. Here is the full list of games showcased at Konami Press Start.

  • Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater
  • Darwin’s Paradox!
  • eFootball
  • eBaseball Pro Spirit
  • Yu-Gi-Oh!
  • Suikoden
  • Suikoden Starleap
  • Gradius Origins
  • Deliver At All Costs
  • Edens Zero
  • Survival Kids
  • Silent Hill f

Konami Press Start survey closes June 24

After the digital event, the publisher launched a survey page specifically for Konami Press Start. The survey featured 13 questions. However, the one that I found interesting was number 12, which said, “Would you like to see another Press Start in the future?”

Question 12

The last question also read, “If you have any requests for a future Press Start, please share them here”. The question was followed by a box where respondents could write their thoughts.

I will be looking out for the results of the survey to see what other viewers thought about the show. On my part, I think it was a great presentation, and I look forward to more. I made this point clear to them as I filled in the review questions. If you missed the showcase, you can view it through the embedded video below.
