Nioh 3 launches on February 6, 2026. Like its predecessors, it is a PlayStation exclusive. Team Ninja never released the previous titles on any other consoles. However, that might change with Nioh 3, according to a small print on the feature trailer posted on the PlayStation YouTube account.
“Also available on PC,” read the small print at the end of the feature trailer. “Not available on other consoles until at least 6 months after February 6, 2026.”

The statement suggests that whatever exclusivity deal Team Ninja has with Sony on Nioh 3 will end around early August. This possibly means that Nioh 3 may eventually get released on Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2, after August 2026.
If that becomes the reality, it would be a remarkable shift from the series’ stance on PlayStation exclusivity. In 2022, VGC interviewed Nioh director Fumihiko Yasuda, who shut down any possibility that the Nioh franchise would come to Xbox.
“There’s nothing really to note about that,” Yasuda said in that interview. “Currently, there’s not really too much of a possibility of having Nioh on Xbox platforms, but we do hope Xbox fans enjoy Wo Long and look forward to that game coming out.”
Sony has softened its stance on platform exclusivity, arguably driven by the need to increase its revenue from its IP. A decade ago, having a PS5 title anywhere else was almost unimaginable. However, in the past 24 months, several Sony first-party IPs have been released on PC.

With the launch of the Xbox handheld gaming console in partnership with Asus, it is technically safe to say that PS exclusives now launch on Xbox. That is because any game on Steam or the Epic Games Store is playable on the Xbox handheld.
