When Palworld was released, Pokémon fans quickly started drawing similarities between their favorite title and the new release. Palfarm’s announcement is getting a similar reception, with some gamers already comparing it to Pokopia, another recent announcement from Nintendo.
The insinuation is that Palfarm is another clone of Pokopia. However, Poketpair communications director and publishing manager, Bucky, has now responded to the allegations, clarifying that the development of Palfarm started over a year ago.

“Palfarm started life over a year ago when 1 dev mocked up a very simple prototype in his spare time,” Bucky wrote on X. “A tiny new team eventually joined in and the rest is history. Just letting you know :)”
Addressing critics comparing the upcoming farming sim to Pokopia, Bucky said they expected that response from grumpy people. He added that it was impossible for any developer to make an entire game in one week.
“A certain % of silliness and grumpy people were expected when announcing Palfarm, and a smaller % of “REEEE POCKETPAIR” was expected too…,” Bucky wrote. “But I’m surprised how many people think we’re wizard-level developers able to make a game in 1 week. The tinfoil hats are out in force😇”
“There is a certain level of poetic irony…the same people who “REEE POCKETPAIR” are the same people thinking we made an entire game in 1 week. Schrödinger’s Pocketpair I guess. We are both a “slop company” and capable of making entire games in 1 week it seems🤷♂️”
While both games are weirdly similar, it is impossible for Pocketpair to have Palfarm ready in just a week after Pokopia’s reveal. However, we do feel the Palworld maker rushed the announcement of Palfarm to avoid the same comparison that the game is currently getting.
