You play as James Sunderland and face the nightmare of the deserted, fog-cloaked town of Silent Hill. The franchise is still considered one of the best psychological horror series in the video game industry. Therefore, it is not surprising that it is the highest-rated game on this list.
#2. Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Metascore 84)
If you love action, RPG combats, this is definitely a thrill to experience this October. It follows the story of Ichiban Kasuga, a grunt from a low-ranking yakuza family. Kasuga takes the fall for a crime he didn’t commit and spends 18 years in prison. On getting out, he discovers that his clan has been destroyed, and he sets out on a path to discover the truth, but can he and his newly found allies handle it?
#3. As Dusk Falls (Metascore 80)
One event can set off a chain reaction that will stretch for years. That possibility is explored in this crime drama, starting with a 1998 robbery-gone-wrong in a small Arizona town. As Dusk Falls is a branching multiplayer that highlights the paths of two families that struggle for survival, while bearing the weight of the previous generation’s mistakes.
#4. V Rising (Metascore 79)
The success of V Rising when it was first released on PC in 2022 inspired Stunlock Studios to bring it to consoles. It launched on PS5 in 2025. This is a top-down survival action RPG where you awaken as a weakened Vampire after spending centuries in slumber. To regain your strength, you need to hunt for blood while avoiding the scorching sun. If you have yet to experience V Rising, its addition to the October PlayStation Plus Game Catalog gives you the perfect opportunity to do so.
#5. Wizard with a Gun (Metascore 73)
If you have up to three friends who enjoy online sandbox survival games, this is one of the titles you should give a shot. You will collect, craft, and clothe your wizard however you want. With enough resources, you can craft unique enchanted ammunition to add more firepower to your arsenal. Mix and match in any way you deem fit.
#6. Until Dawn (Metascore 70)
The Until Dawn franchise was recently adapted for the cinema audience. It follows the story of eight friends’ return to an isolated mountain lodge where two of their group disappeared the previous year. The remote retreat soon turns into a survival nightmare where every decision and action determines if you will stay alive until dawn.

#7. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1
Unfortunately, there is no Metascore for this game at the time of writing because Metacritic needs at least 4 critical reviews to issue a score. Poppy Playtime tells the story of how everyone working in an elite store company suddenly disappeared, and you must dig through the noise to discover the truth. Hopefully, the addition to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog will help more players discover the game’s locked-in gem.
#8. Tekken 3 (Metascore 96)
The Tekken franchise needs no introduction if you are a fan of fighting games. Tekken 3, although released many years ago, has been enhanced with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.
