Sloclap has revealed that its latest soccer sim, Rematch, has hit an incredible milestone barely 24 hours after launch. The game, which was highly talked about during the beta test, was launched on June 19, 2025.
“One million unique players in 24 hours. Seeing so many of you jump into Rematch on day one is incredible,” the developer announced through the game’s official X handle. “The whole team is super grateful! And already hard at work on fixing and improving the game. We are just getting started.”

On Steam, the game attracted 92,841 concurrent players on launch day, according to SteamDB. We believe this number will likely grow this weekend as more gamers will have more time off work. During the beta, Rematch drew over 159,000 concurrent players.
Attracting 92,000 players is a big deal for Rematch and Sloclap because the latest installment of the most successful sports sim, EA Sports FC 25, peaked at 110,026 concurrent players.
At the time Rematch hit its current peak concurrent player count on June 19, EA Sports FC 25 had 60,328 concurrent players, meaning more gamers chose to play Rematch over FC 25, which is from a much larger developer and a more established franchise.
Although Rematch is still far from beating its biggest rival, it has a strong start, which should excite the Sloclap team. The developer made a promise that more is on the way, and some of the big news is already rolling out.
