Sloclap launched Rematch on June 19, 2025, and has continued to support the game with new brand and player collaborations. The latest player to join the roster is legendary soccer player Ronaldinho.
“The magician is back,” the developer announced through the game’s official X handle. “@10Ronaldinho lights up Rematch once more with a bundle dripping in street flair and pure joy. From the Champions League to Porto Alegre, his magic still dances on every pitch. Out now. Play with joy. Play with a smile.”

Ronaldinho joins the Rematch player roster today. The nearly 2-minute video shared by the developer with the announcement showed Ronaldinho showing off some of his skills with a jubilant dance after scoring a goal.

However, some people were left underwhelmed by the announcement, judging from some of the comments left under the post. A user with the handle @ainzkaiser wrote, “No one asked for this bruh”.
Another comment from @uchiha_malvadao read, “The game is death”.
Others pointed out issues the developers should fix more urgently, instead of player collaborations. A user with the handle @ClankkOG wrote, “Please fix the Making History achievement on Xbox!”
Rematch reached impressive heights during the Beta Test back in April, attracting more players than FC25. The hype continued through launch, with the game attracting over a million players in the first 24 hours after its release.
In the first week after release, Rematch hit another milestone by attracting more than 3 million players. On Steam, the game achieved 92,841 peak concurrent players. However, the game has lost over 90% of its players on Steam.
At the time of writing, it only had over 4,100 concurrent players with a 24-hour peak of 8,600. Attracting and retaining players has always been the challenge faced by live service games. It’s unclear how long Sloclap will continue to support Rematch before pulling the plug.
