Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 has shipped more than 5 million copies since its launch. The news was shared by its excited developer, Sandfall Interactive, today. To show their appreciation, the developer has announced several updates for the game, including new content and locations.
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 was released in April. It sold 3.3 million copies in 33 days. Five months later, it has now crossed the 5 million copies milestone, and is widely considered a Game of the Year contender.

“On top of that, the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 original soundtrack, composed by Lorien Testard, has now reached over 333 million track streams since its release!” Sandfall Interactive added.
“We’ve been completely blown away by the constant support from so many of you – Your artwork, your stories, your cosplays and your endless creativity has been loved and appreciated by all of us. We could not be more grateful, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
To celebrate the milestone, Sandfall Interactive announced “a new, playable environment, taking the characters of Expedition 33 to a brand-new location with new enemy encounters and surprise to discover”.
Although the date for the release of the new location, which we assume would be a DLC, was not disclosed, players should expect new challenges and new boss battles to overcome.
Sandfall Interactive is also promising cosmetic updates, including new costumes for each member of the Expedition, which will offer players more customization options throughout the adventure.
New text and UI game localizations into Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian will be added to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This will bring the total supported languages in the game to 19.
