The number also means that Silent Hill F is selling faster than the Silent Hill 2 remake, which the publisher released last year. In a press release published in Japanese as seen on VGC, the publisher compared the Silent Hill F sales to those of Silent Hill 2 saying,
“The remake of Silent Hill 2, released last year, surpassed one million units shipped worldwide within a week of its release, but Silent Hill F is growing in shipments at an even faster pace in each region, including Japan. As the latest instalment in the series, it has been met with a great response both at home and abroad.”
