Around 2 months ago, T-Minus Zero Entertainment announced its closure. At that time, they had already created a playable hands-on demo of a yet-to-be-announced game, which they said “has generated a lot of interest”. According to a public post from Rich Vogel, the studio head at the time, the reason for the closure was related to funding.
On October 31, a blog post on the company’s website confirmed that T-Minus Zero Entertainment is officially returning and ready to build the next great player-driven experience.

“Earlier this year, our journey with NetEase Games came to a close,” the studio wrote. “Together, we accomplished something rare: a world-class team, a bold new IP, and a fully playable prototype that demonstrated both our creative and executional strength. The response from players, partners, and peers validated our belief that what we were building had genuine market potential. While shifting market conditions terminated that trajectory, they also clarified our path forward.”
“A small group of veteran directors & founders have acquired the T-Minus Zero Entertainment name to carry the team’s spirit forward and are relaunching as an independent production company—with a refined development model and a funding approach inspired by the independent film world: focused, project-based, and partnership-friendly.”
T-Minus Zero Entertainment relaunches with new mission
T-Minus Zero was founded in 2023 and has its headquarters in Austin, Texas. The relaunched studio will be led by former Zachary Beaudoin, the former production director, who previously worked on BioWare’s Anthem.

Other former members of the company that are still part of T-Minus Zero relaunch include Jeff Dobson, who previously worked on Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mark Tucker, who previously worked on Fallout 76, and Scott Stevens, who previously worked on Halo 4. Vogel doesn’t seem to be part of the relaunch. The relaunched studio has three new missions, namely:
-
Veteran Talent & Leadership: A tight group of veteran technical and creative leaders, who work exceptionally well together, and have access to a vast talent network.
-
A Novel Gaming Experience: A genre-forward concept with strong proof-of-interest and scalability across platforms.
-
Clear Financing Strategy: Structured around special-purpose production entities, ensuring investor transparency, distributed risk, and rapid ROI pathways.
T-Minus Zero is seeking co-financing partners for the next round of development. The immediate goal of the studio is to bring its concept game to full production. All eyes will be on the new studio’s debut game.
