Video game Language Solutions Integrator (LSI) Testronic announced the closure of its Madrid and Belgrade studios on September 11, 2025. The closure was part of the company’s strategic restructuring plan, led by CEO Sharon Baylay-Bell.
“This is a pivotal moment for our company,” the CEO said at that time. “Making changes that affect people is never easy, but these decisions are about strengthening our business for the future.”

“We are in a very strong financial position, and this refocus allows us to invest more deeply in our Centers of Excellence in the US, Europe and South East Asia. We are recruiting across all three regions, and remain committed to innovation and state-of-the-art technology. We can now focus on delivering the services at which we excel – QA Testing and Localization via Testronic, and award-winning 3D and VFX Art via Secret 6.”
The number of people affected by the closure in the two locations was not disclosed. Other major impacts of Baylay-Bell’s restructuring were the sale of Curve Games to Nazara Technologies and the retirement of the Catalis Group name—previously the umbrella brand for both Testronic and Curve Games. The CEO commented on the sale.
“The sale of Curve Games has allowed us to do just that. It has also enabled us to streamline the business to eliminate what had been something of a complicated corporate structure,” Baylay-Bell said.
“This is a significant stage in our company’s journey. By leveraging our core capabilities and driving innovation, we are well-positioned to create stronger, deeper client partnerships that are player-focused, client-first and outcomes-led.”
Testronic is expanding its operations in Manila
Although Testronic has closed offices in Europe, it has continued to ramp up its operations across its other locations, especially in Manila. The company reported that it has hired over 160 people since July.
The number of testers in Testronic’s Manila studios has doubled. The company also hopes to double its floorspace by early 2026. Testronic has also entered into a new funding partnership with TDC, a private equity firm. The new funding deal will see TDC become Testronic’s major financial partner. The private equity firm will act as an “enabler” and an observer on the company’s board.

Baylay-Bell acknowledged the benefits of AI in scale and speed but stressed that the effectiveness “diminishes when dealing with the nuance, emotion, and cultural context essential for video games”. According to the CEO, the place of human language professionals remains “indispensable” to ensure content localization is completed with utmost relevance and quality.
Testronic was founded in 1998 and has grown to be a leader in quality assurance, localization services, player support, compliance, and certification. The company has worked with heavyweights in the industry, including Square Enix, Riot Games, Devolver Digital, and Deep Silver.
