If you are a fan of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, developed by Sharkmob, it will break your heart to learn that the game’s servers will be turned off on April 28, 2026. The decision was announced by the developer today. However, those who have been faithful to the game since its release on April 27, 2022, knew it was only a matter of time.

“When we first opened the streets of Prague to you, we could only hope that the nights you spent there would create the memories they did,” the developer posted via the game’s website. “From the battles fought on the rooftops to the friendships made in the chaos, Bloodhunt has lived through you in countless unforgettable ways.”

“During these past 4 years, we have been thrilled to see your passion and dedication to Bloodhunt. Your feedback, creativity, and enthusiasm for our game has meant the world to us. However, despite you, our amazing community, the current player population has reached a level where keeping the servers running is no longer sustainable.
This has led us to make the difficult decision to take Bloodhunt offline. The sun is now going to rise over Prague. We will be taking down the Bloodhunt servers on the 28th of April 2026, after which the game will no longer be available.”
Every live service title relies on a healthy community size that spends on in-game purchases to keep the servers running and furnish the game with new content. Once that revenue source dries up, shutting down the game becomes a no-brainer.

The game will remain fully playable until the servers are shut down next year. Once the servers are shut down, the game will become unplayable. Sharkmob also turned off purchases, but will keep the in-game store for those who have tokens to spend them. Once the servers go offline, any remaining tokens will become unusable because all account and gameplay data will be deleted.
What kind of game was Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt?
For those who may not be familiar with the game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is a free-to-play battle royale set in Prague, consumed by a ruthless war between vampire factions. Players were expected to use their supernatural powers, weapons, and brain power to hunt rivals in a fight for who dominates the night.
The game allowed players to develop their own playstyle. While some preferred to go all-out guns blazing, sneak attacks worked for others. Preying on mortals allowed the vampires to grow their power.

At its peak, the game attracted 29,475 concurrent players on Steam. However, it hasn’t crossed 1,000 concurrent players since October 2024. The reviews on Steam have remained Positive over the years. For those who are already familiar with the game, the announcement gives them enough time to enjoy their time in Prague and make lasting memories.
