Earlier this morning, the official Xbox Support account on X tweeted a message acknowledging issues that some players were having. They even left a link for players to check the status of the problem.
“We are aware that users are having issues with creating or receiving Party and Game invites and messages,” tweeted the Xbox Support account. “Our engineers are on it!”
At the time of the tweet, five services were marked as having “Major outages”. However, at the time of writing, all the problems had been resolved. According to Microsoft, the issues were reported at 9:30 am UK time and were flagged as “Investigating” as of 9:55 am UK time.
While the problem lasted, all other Xbox functionalities were up and running, including online multiplayer matchmaking, cloud gaming and remote play, and Xbox Store. The reaction trailing the tweet suggests that Xbox users are tired of these issues because of how frequent they have become.

“I’m not sure why this is an every other week issue with the party chat, I get one day a week to play with friends, and things like this ruin it,” commented @patrickg80. “I guess what people are saying is true”.
Another comment from @_cyber_hunter_ appears to corroborate the persistent problem with Xbox. The user wrote, “How is it possible that Microsoft/Xbox ALWAYS has some kind of tech issue? WTF do you guys do to f**k everything up consistently?”
The fate of the Xbox console is now in doubt, especially with the console maker now porting first-party titles to rival platforms. The move had sparked outrage in the Xbox community. A recent report claims PlayStation now “Sees Xbox as a diminishing platform”. The sentiment was echoed in some of the comments under the service outage announcement.
