IO Interactive has revealed that 007 First Light sold 1.5 million copies on launch day. At the time of writing, the game has earned an average Metascore of 87 on Xbox Series X and PS5 and 86 on PC.

007 is the only other game from IO Interactive to have amassed a Metascore of 87 after Hitman 2 and 3. It is also the best-rated Bond game in 30 years. Sharing the milestone sales news, the company wrote, “1.5 million copies sold! Thank you for showing up to the launch of 007 First Light, for your overwhelming enthusiasm, and for sharing your experience with the game.”

In a separate press release, the company revealed that the 1.5 million sales milestone in 24 hours makes 007 First Light the fastest-selling title in IO Interactive’s history. The developer also revealed what the enthusiasm around the game means for the company.
“The milestone of 1.5 million units sold in 24 hours reflects overwhelming global enthusiasm for 007 First Light and represents a significant achievement for IO Interactive.
With an 88 OpenCritic rating and 87 Metacritic score, 007 First Light has been embraced by both critics and players alike, already establishing itself as one of 2026’s most successful gaming releases. The sales recorded across all platforms underscore the game’s broad appeal and the successful execution of IO Interactive’s vision to honor Bond’s legacy in gaming.”
007 First Light is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon, Steam, Epic Games Store, and select retailers. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is expected later in the Summer of 2026.
