The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled for release in the United States theaters on April 1, 2026. Illumination Entertainment and Nintendo are producing the movie. The story is a follow-up to the events of the first movie, which launched on April 5, 2023.

Although several trailers for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie have been released, today’s trailer is going to be the last, leading up to the premiere date. The animated movie is also going to be a major part of the Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary celebrations.

“Join us on Monday, Mar 9, at 2 pm PT for the Nintendo Direct featuring the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” read the video description on YouTube. “Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation.”
Previous trailers have hinted at the more prominent roles that famous characters in the Mario World will play, including Birdo, Yoshi, Rosalina, and Bowser Jr. The trailers have also referenced several Mario games.

Every March 10 is celebrated as Mario Day (MAR10 DAY). While the final trailer of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is timed to set the tone for the 40th anniversary celebrations, some fans had hoped to get a new adventure featuring the mustachioed character.
For the celebration of Mario Day, Nintendo has announced several deals on some games in the franchise, including the upcoming release of three classic titles on Nintendo Switch Online.
