Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Comes To PC March 21

PlayStation players first experienced Horizon Forbidden West in 2022. Two years later, it is now the turn of PC gamers to have a feel of the multi-award-winning action-adventure game from Guerrilla Games. Sony has announced that the once-PlayStation exclusive will be coming to PC on March 21—but there is more to it.

What was most exciting about the announcement was that the version of the game that would be coming to PC is the Complete Edition which contains the base game and the Burning Shores expansion.

“Experience the epic Horizon Forbidden West in its entirety with bonus content and the Burning Shores expansion included,” read the official game blurb on Steam. “The Burning Shores add-on contains additional content for Aloy’s adventure, including new storylines, characters, and experiences in a stunning yet hazardous new area.”

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is now available for pre-purchase on Steam and Epic Games Store for $59.99/£49.99. Sony released a new trailer for the game showcasing some of the features that will come to the PC version which include;

  • Unlocked framerates
  • Customizable graphics settings
  • NVIDIA DLSS3, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS upscaling
  • Frame generation
  • Ultrawide display support
  • Direct storage support
  • Dualsense support with haptic feedback

From the trailer released by Sony, it was evident that the PC version of the game was made in collaboration with Nixxes Software. The Dutch video game maker headquartered at the World Trade Center in Utrecht, Netherlands specializes in porting games to new platforms.

What Sony has done—or what we are being sold—is that Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition for PC is not just going to be about making the game playable on PC. The game has been revamped to make it enjoyable on different PC gaming setups.

“AMD FSR and Intell XeSS are also supported,” revealed Julian Huijbregts, Nixxes Software’s online community specialist. “For players with high-end hardware and extra headroom, image-enhancing NVIDIA DLAA is also available. The game leverages Direct Storage for quick loading times on PC.”

According to Huijbregts, the game has a variety of ultra-wide support that makes it ideal for PC gamers with large panoramic monitors or those with triple monitor setups. Huijbregts explained this in a Thursday, January 25th publication the PlayStation blog.

“With ultra-wide support, you’ll be able to take in the vistas in a panoramic view. Gameplay is supported in 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions with compatibility for triple monitor setups. Fully customizable mouse and keyboard controls let you traverse the Forbidden West and fight ferocious machines on your PC the way you want to.”

Several bonus contents have also been confirmed for the PC version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. These bonus contents make the investment worthwhile—and maybe enough to get some PlayStation players jealous. The confirmed bonus content includes;
