French video game publisher and holdings company, Nacon, has filed for insolvency and is requesting the initiation of judicial proceedings before the Commercial Court of Lille Metropole. Consequently, the company has suspended trading on its shares on the regulated market of Euronext Paris.

Nacon is a subsidiary of the Bigben Group. According to a press release from the company, trouble started on February 20, 2026, when Nacon’s majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive, experienced “unexpected and late refusal by its banking pool”. This meant the company was unable to make the partial repayment of its bond loan to its bondholders.

“To date, the Company reports that its available assets do not allow it to meet its due liabilities. In this context, the Company will, as of today, file for insolvency with the Court and request the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings,” Nacon wrote.
“The aim of this procedure is to assess all possible solutions to ensure the sustainability of the Company’s activity under the best possible conditions, protect employees, and preserve jobs, while renegotiating with its creditors in a calm and constructive framework.”
Nacon still has unfulfilled publishing deals

Nacon was founded in 1981. Over the years, the company has diversified into software, publishing, and peripherals. It was previously called Bigben Interactive, but was renamed after a 2019 restructuring that consolidated resources. With over 76% of shares, Bigben Group became Nacon’s majority shareholder and assumed control.
