Nintendo just announced a Treehouse livestream for Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Unlike the regular Nintendo Direct that features trailers and announcements, the upcoming event will feature hands-on gameplay of two iconic games coming to Switch 2.

“Join us on Feb 24 at 2 pm PT for a new Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation featuring hands-on gameplay of Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park and Pokémon Pokopia,” read the announcement. “The livestream will last roughly 80 minutes.”

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is a new expansion pack to the first Wonder game. It is a multiplayer-focused Switch 2 exclusive that will launch on March 26, 2026.
It features over 23 new competitive and cooperative attractions, including Local Multiplayer Plaza, playable by up to 4 players. The Game Room Plaza can be played by up to 12 players. The Local Multiplayer Plaza will have 17 new attractions, while the Game Room Plaza will have 6, including racing, coin collection, and tag.
It will feature Rosalina as a playable character, alongside Co-Star Luma, who plays a supporting role to players by collecting items and defeating enemies. The game will include support for new amiibo, such as Elephant Mario, Captain Toad and Talking Flower, and Poplin and Prince Florian.

Nintendo gameplay showcases always take time analyzing different aspects of the game, from the characters to the worlds and the features. So, don’t expect any surprise announcements beyond the games mentioned.
Switch 2 owners who already own the game in the last generation console will have the option to buy the standalone digital or physical version of the Switch 2 Edition or purchase a Switch 2 Edition upgrade.
Pokémon Pokopia is scheduled for a March 5 release. The game is being developed by Koei Tecmo and Game Freak for Switch 2. It will see gamers play as Ditto and befriend other Pokémon to rebuild an island.
