“Eve’s mission is far from over, and we at Shift Up are working to make Stellar Blade shine even brighter,” wrote Shift Up director Kim Hyung Tae on PlayStation Blog. “We’re happy to present to you the new Boss Challenge, new Nano Suits, and improved convenience features coming in this patch update on May 24.”

It is important to mention that progression in the Boss challenge is hinged on your progress in the base game. This is because the Boss Challenge requires data from the bosses you have defeated in the game. What this means is that you cannot fight with a boss you have not defeated (or encountered) in the base game in the Boss Challenge mode.

“To start the challenge, you can either load up and use your own gear you’ve been using or choose one of several presets. Choose the minimum preset for a true challenge, which is extremely understated, or the maximum preset, which has all of your skills and stats buffed up, if you want to taunt the boss with some spectacular combat.”

At the end of each battle in the Boss Challenge, the player’s data will be automatically analyzed and will include details like the number of perfect parries, dodges, battle time, the number of consumables used, and more. It is a fun mode where friends can challenge each other to know who will have the best stats.

Apart from the new suits, Shift Up has made some quality-of-life improvements to Stellar Blade. Top on the list is Eve automatically locking on an enemy when you switch between ranged and closed combat if you were previously locked on the enemy. The new update will also come with an option to always have the compass in the HUD.

Shift Up said the May 24 update will also come with fixes for minor bugs in the game including unplayable sections, trophies not being awarded, and events not triggering. Recently, Shift Up said it was considering the option of bringing Stellar Blade to PC, as well as a sequel.
