TiMi Montreal Studio Reportedly Shuttered By Tencent

TiMi Montreal has been reportedly shutdown by Tencent. The studio was yet to release its first game before its closure.

Several video game studios were closed in 2025. The majority was due to funding difficulty rather than poor commercial performance of titles.

Toronto-based studio Bad Brain Game Studios is the latest NetEase funded studio to announce closure unless it finds new funding partner.

The news of NetEase’s layoff of Marvel Rivals Seattle team was first shared by game director Thaddeus Sasser.
