Yesterday, Xbox announced that it was slashing the price of Game Pass. Barely 24 hours later, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has teased that the company is working to make “Game Pass more flexible,” through a post on her official X handle. The new boss succeeded Phil Spencer.

“For years, Xbox and @discord have worked together to make it easier for players to connect, chat, and play across devices,” Sharma wrote.

“We’re teaming up again as we continue to make Game Pass more flexible for our players. Some of you might start to see some code in the wild, and we will share more details with you all soon!”

The new message from Sharma corroborates a previous report that Xbox is testing Game Pass tiers internally with a more flexible offering. It was reported that a “Triton” tier was under development that would give subscribers access to only first-party titles.

Another tier called “Duet” could offer a bundled subscription with Netflix. There are speculations that the Discord collaboration may get a similar treatment, where Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get access to Nitro or vice versa.

Under the message Sharma posted today, some gamers sent in different requests for the new boss. A user with the handle @jbarajasp wrote, “I hope discord integration is coming to the Xbox PC app. To me that’s one of the biggest locking features. I would also love to see discord voice and text chat integration into the Xbox chat experience on PC”.

@RazgrizFllaga wrote, “I hope you can also rectify out of region players that for some reason unable to buy games. Let us out of region players buy games. Seriously. We bought your system. Region lock needed to die with the Xbox 360. Not back with a vengeance in 2026.”

Since assuming office, Sharma has been making sweeping reforms designed to return Xbox to its glory days. One of her first acts was terminating the “This is an Xbox” marketing campaign.

The last collaboration with Discord made it possible for gamers to view Discord streams from consoles. What do you think the nature of the ongoing collaboration will take? Also, have you been impressed with Sharma’s decisions so far? Share your thoughts in the comment box below.
