Just like in 2023, the list of AAA titles already lined up for this year is huge. You’ll risk losing sleep if you want to play every single game released monthly. Last year over 14,000 titles were published on Steam. According to SteamDB, 1,056 games have already been published on Steam as of January 28, 2024, which is already a new January record since the website started keeping records in 2006.
Considering the fact that the economy is biting harder, people are becoming more conservative with their spending. Most gamers want to invest in games that they are certain will be worth every cent. That is where we come in with a curated list of games that you should plan to play.
How we chose our must-play AAA titles
Gamespot has been keeping a record of the games planned for release every month. From our count, over 35 games have already been planned for release in February. More games will likely be announced within the month or shadowdropped.
We sieved through every one of the games already scheduled for launch in February, watched their gameplay and trailers, and read about their stories before settling for our 5 top must-play AAA titles. In this post, we will tell you why we believe each of the AAA titles on our list deserves a spot on your list of must-play games.

#1. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (February 2)
In just a few days, players will get to dive into the Arkhamverse. However, this time they will not be playing as Batman but as one of the members of the Suicide Squad; Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Harley Quinn.
After Brainiac subjected members of the Justice League under his mind control, Amanda Waller assembled some of the worst villains. She was convinced the only way to stop the problem was to kill the members of the Justice League. It can be played solo or with up to three friends.
Developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League promises to be a cracker with huge post-launch content already lined up. Although there has been mixed reaction concerning the choice of plot, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is still one of the AAA titles that is hard to miss.
#2. Helldivers 2 (February 8)
The upcoming third-person shooter beckons on players to join an elite defense force called the Helldivers. The AAA title allows you to team up with three friends to wage war on an alien scourge that’s threatening the safety of your home planet, Super Earth.
Players will have access to the biggest, baddest, and most explosive tools in the galaxy that give them a fighting chance against the hordes of marauding aliens. The customizable load-outs, primary weapons, and ability to call on stratagems during battles make it reminiscent of a classic military franchise—except that this time you are battling aliens.

#3. Banishers: Ghost of New Eden (February 13)
We get new IPs now and then. However, not all of them have elicited the kind of excitement that Banishers: Ghost of New Eden brings. At the heart of this AAA title is a mechanics that tasks players with making really tough decisions. Players will either stand for truth and risk losing their lover forever or do whatever it takes—even making wrong selfish decisions—to bring back their lover from the dead.
The story of Banishers: Ghost of New Eden revolves around two ghost hunters Antea Duarte and Red mc Raith. In one of their hunts, Duarte was killed, turning her into one of the things she fought against. Playing as Raith, every person you sacrifice (banish) increases Duarte’s chance of resurrection and vice versa.
Developed by Don’t Nod and published by Focus Entertainment, Banishers: Ghost of New Eden is all about love, death, and sacrifice. The game allows players to use Raith’s conventional weapons which include a rifle, a sword, and a torch, or Duarte’s spirit abilities. Take this to the bank, Banishers: Ghost of New Eden is one of the AAA titles you can’t afford to miss.
#4. Skull and Bones (February 16)
This AAA title is believed to be inspired by Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag because naval combat was a huge part of that game. Although you will occasionally come to land to trade supplies or do some crafting, the core of Skull and Bones is set on the sea.
This AAA game can be played solo or with up to 2 friends. Armed with massive cannons and other weapons, players will sail through dark and dangerous seas. While you will constantly be on the lookout for other pirate ships, you will also face unprecedented threats from the weather, cutthroat pirate hunters, ship-wrecking waves, and deadly wildlife.

#5. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (February 29)
Both Capcom and Square Enix have promised to revisit their successful old IPs rather than trying to create new ones—which is often risky. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a sequel to the Final Fantasy VII Remake and the second in the planned trilogy for that entry.
This AAA title will combine action role-playing elements with strategic and real-time action. The game was set immediately after the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Players will walk in the shoes of Cloud Strife, a mercenary that bonds with other characters to stop Shinra, a megacorporation, from exploiting the life essence, the Lifestream, of the Planet.
