Finally, the long list of nominees was announced on Monday, November 13, 2023. Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake II were the start of the day with 8 nominations each.

The unveiling of the nominee list happened through a global livestream anchored by Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards. Considered as the Oscars of video games, the main award ceremony will happen on December 7, 2023—barely 3 weeks after the nominee announcement.

Last year there were 31 award categories. That did not change this year. In a year marked by a flurry of big title releases, the hype around The Game Awards 2023 has been massive as gamers eagerly watch to see which title gets the most nominations, and possibly sweeps the most awards on December 7.

Baldur’s Gate 3 And Alan Wake II Bags The Highest Nominations At The Game Awards 2023

If you have plans to attend The Games Award 2023, now would be the best time for you to get your ticket. The sale of tickets started on November 6, 2023, through AXS.com. The main award show will be held at the Peacock Theater, Los Angeles (previously Microsoft Theater).

“The Game Awards 2023 attendees can anticipate an incredible lineup of world premiere announcements and trailers, live performances by The Game Awards Orchestra led by award-winning conductor, Lorne Balfe, and other surprises as the top games, creatives, and studios of 2023 are honored at the live ceremony,” the organizers said.

What makes The Game Awards different from every other award is that it features more than just the handing out of statues. Highly anticipated games are often premiered at the event. From every indication, the first trailer of the next Grand Theft Auto title will premiere at this year’s The Game Awards on December 7.

The Game Awards 2023 will also be streamed for those who cannot make it to the venue. The organizers have confirmed that the show will be streamed live across over 30 digital channels including YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, X, TikTok Live, and more.
