Posts emerging from people who worked at Arrival show that the creative services, co-development, and audio powerhouse has laid off an unspecified number of employees. Arrival was previously Formosa Interactive before rebranding in January 2026.

Ex-Arrival employees speak about their experience

GameBaba Universe spotted at least two posts on LinkedIn from people who confirmed that they have been laid off from Arrival. Both posts were made between August 4 and 5, 2026, suggesting this is a recent development.
Technical sound designer and dialogue editor Roman Fusco wrote, “Unfortunately, I was impacted by layoffs at Arrival. I’m grateful for the time I was able to spend at Arrival and Formosa Interactive, and was fortunate to work with and learn from some of the best in the industry”.
David Nazario, an audio manager and sound designer, also confirmed that he was laid off from the studio. “One week I was posting about the joy of a game I worked on getting released and now, right before my 40th birthday, I’m unfortunately posting about being laid off,” he wrote. “Sadly, I was affected Arrival’s (formerly known as Formosa Interactive) recent layoffs.”
Nazario also suggested that since there are lots of game devs currently unemployed, it would make sense if they could come together and make something cool.
“ALSO, since there are so many of us game devs out there looking for work, can a bunch of us just get together and create something cool?” he wrote, but added that “I know a lot of folks don’t really have the luxury of being able to do something like that”.
“Hell, that’ll be me soon enough. But are there some game jams going on that I can join in on? I just want to build something quick and flashy with a team of folks comprised of all disciplines. I’ve got that indie game dev itch again! If anyone knows of something like that or is interested in working on something like that with me, please hit me up!”
At the time of writing, there is still no official statement from the studio on the matter. GameBaba Universe empathizes with those affected and hopes they land on their feet soon.
