If you want to purchase the Steam Deck now, you will have to pay as much as $300 more. The new price regime is already live on the Steam store. Valve announced the new prices via a blog post on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

“Steam Deck itself hasn’t changed,” Valve said in the post. “These new prices reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistical challenges across the industry as a whole. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes.”

In the new price regime, the Steam Deck OLED 512GB will now cost $789 / €779 /£649 (an increase of $240 from the previous $549). The Steam Deck OLED 1TB will now cost $949 / €919 /£779 (a $300 or 46.22% increase from the previous $649).
With the new price hike, fans who are eager to get the Steam Machine in their hands are now concerned that the price may be out of their reach. At the time of writing, there is still no price attached to the new hardware, despite the release date being around the corner.

Back in February, Valve said it was reassessing the price of the Steam Machine based on the same reason: memory and storage shortages and rising prices.
“Our goal of shipping all three products in the first half of the year has not changed. But we have work to do to land on concrete pricing and launch dates that we can confidently announce,” the company said.
It is important to mention that the first half of the year ends on June 30. When the console was first revealed, Linus Tech Tips estimated that it would cost around $700. With the new memory hike and scarcity, some are now predicting that the Steam Machine will likely cost over $1,000.
