Ubisoft’s Red Storm Closure And Retrenchment Of 105 Sends Emotions Running Wild

Ubisoft has ended game development at Red Storm Entertainment, leading to the layoff of 105 employees.

Tencent-backed Ubisoft subsidiary has been named Vantage Studios and begins operation on October 1, 2025.

Ubisoft has now named Charlie Guillemot veteran Christophe Derennes as co-CEOs of its new subsidiary.

Ubisoft’s new subsidiary is valued at $4.3 billion (€4 billion) and will be the new home of Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six franchises.
