Update on Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe

The development of Hexe continues at Ubisoft Montreal. According to Guesdon, it is being developed “with great care” by a veteran team. About the story arc, the head of content said, “expect a unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience, set during a pivotal moment in history”.

As announced at the end of February, the former director of Hexe, Clint Hocking, has left Ubisoft. Guesdon confirmed that he has taken the role of creative director for the project, in addition to his responsibility as Head of Content.

“We are taking the time to deliver on its ambitious vision,” Guesdon said, “which means we’ll be quiet for a little longer, but we love seeing all the enthusiasm happening on our channels and can’t wait to unveil more when the time is right.”

Update on Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus

The PvP multiplayer Assassin’s Creed project is being developed by a team of For Honor veterans at Ubisoft Montreal. It is expected to be a new approach to multiplayer in the franchise. While there have been lots of speculations, Guesdon shot them down, saying, “It isn’t quite what the rumors have suggested”.

Several Assassin’s Creed games are in the works, including Jade. A live-action series set in the Assassin’s Creed universe is also coming to Netflix. While it has been a while since the cast was revealed, Guesdon said, “Something tells us you won’t have to wait very long”.

Guesdon pledged continued support for older titles. Today, March 5, 2026, a free 60 FPS patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This will allow players to experience the game with more smoothness on consoles.

“And for our Xbox players out there, we’ve got a little treat, as multiple Assassin’s Creed games will be playable for free for a limited time for Xbox Free Play Days, from April 2nd to 6th! Perfect time to try Unity in that 60 FPS beauty,” Guesdon said.
